For Lyndsay, it has always been about helping children.
Lyndsay qualified with a BSc(OT) at the University of Cape Town in 2006, with a clear vision to become a children's OT. She completed a year working in a rural South African town, supporting babies born prematurely, sick children, children with burn injuries and orphaned and abandoned children in care.
It was on returning to Cape Town that she began working with children on the autism spectrum, and an interest in sensory integration was sparked. She completed her Ayres' Sensory Integration Training in South Africa in 2018.
Life brought Lyndsay to the UK in 2012 and here she has worked in the NHS in Hampshire, special schools and independent practice in Buckinghamshire. Her own two children have been the ultimate teachers and helped her understand the incredible demands on modern parents, especially parents of children with SEND.
Putting together the pieces of a child's puzzle through the assessment process is fascinating to Lyndsay, and she will help parents understand the puzzle picture too.
Lyndsay is passionate about working with the family as a whole, providing them with a full toolkit to understand and support their child or young person.
Lyndsay loves creating the just right challenge for children in their intervention sessions, ensuring children feel safe and at ease, and adding just the right amount of novelty to spark learning.
Lyndsay has a special interest in sensorimotor development, children's toileting difficulties and coregulation between young children and their caregivers.
